"..that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful fool”

Hello my lovelies,

This is my first ever blog so I do apologise if it isn't quite right(but how terribly exciting it all is!!)!!! Today has been a wonderful day. Firstly because the sun is shining!!! HOOOORAY! Secondly, my Tatty Devine parcel has arrived, which always makes a day so much better don't you think? I have also been listening to Baz Lurhmann's 'The Great Gatsby' soundtrack, which was what inspired me for my first blog! I urge everyone to see the film as it is spectacular in my opinion. My favourite track on the album is 'young and beautiful - Lana Del Ray', it is a stunningly haunting song. As I listened to Lana's beautiful voice, I started playing with my hair and makeup in an effort to bring the roaring 1920's into my look for the day! I hope I succeeded, but I guess you guys will be the judge of that!!!

Here are the photos of my first attempt :

My hair was done with a cheap 1 inch curling iron and I curled all of my hair! I then brushed the curls out a little so they grouped together to form bigger curls. I backcombed my curls to give them more volume with a normal paddle brush! As my hair is in a long bob, I only needed a few kirby grips to grip the bottom layer of my hair underneath to make my hair look like a short 1920's bob!

Smokey eyes were very popular in 1920's, however as I did mine for daytime I did them a little lighter and more subtle! I used a cheap black and shimmer eyeshadow for the smokey outer shading of my eye! blue's and green's were also popular for eye colours in the 20's so I used my MAC pigment in golden olive to give my eyes a bit more depth and colour! I used a cheap natural lipliner to keep my lipstick from bleeding and give my lips more volume! It was fashionable to create a bigger bow for you lips in the 20's, which would look great with this look, it just looks silly on me as i have no bow at all!!!

My lipstick is one of my favourite things living in my makeup bag!! It is part of Lush's Emotional Brilliance range and is called Decisive! It lasts literally all day without budging and I even manage to keep it on after eating and drinking!!! It is such a classic deep red! They do a big range of lip colours, cream eyeshadows and eyeliners, all in such striking colours! I have nearly all of them!

Headwear was popular for women in the 1920's so I added a cheap Primark headband I had to make my hair look even more 20's. (Any headband similar would look fab).

And that is my 1920's Great Gatsby themed look....let me know what you guys think :)!

The Gilbert and George Tatty range would look amazing with this look and I am desperate for the Gin brooch to finish off my look!!!

Here is the very exciting parcel I got through the post:

Tatty Devine is my all time favourite!!! They make such innovative jewellery which always receives so many compliments when you wear it. They're made from perspex and are handmade in England! You can't get better than that, and to top it off the team are amazing! I have never received better customer service than from the Tatty Devine team! ALL HAIL TATTY!!!

Here is my little leopard brooch! He doesn't have a name yet but is going to look amazing on some of my shirts or cardigans! I got him in the sale for £15!!! You can get some incredible bargains at a Tatty Sale.

I'd also like to introduce you to my other new friend. He too doesn't have a name yet :( boo hoo! But i'm sure you'll agree he is an absolute cutie! This is from the Summer range at Tatty Devine and is a fairly longish necklace! ( Both pieces will appear worn in a later blog) Check out Tatty Devine now, but be warned....your bank balance will always take a hit, it's very addictive!

So my beautiful friends, that was my first blog. Thankyou so much for reading! Hope you enjoyed it, and will of course return to see what else i'm up to! Love to you all!
